Privacy Policy

When you create an account and use STAK, we collect:

• Profile data: Name, email, phone, location (city, state, country), resume, photo
• Professional info: Work history, skills, certifications, salary expectations
• Preferences: Job interests, remote preferences, desired industries
• Activity data — Internal Job Listings: Job swipes, matches, messages, saved jobs, and interactions with employers within the STAK platform
• Activity data — External Job Listings: Clicks on external job links and saves that indicate interest. STAK does not collect or store application data submitted to external employers.
• Device info: Device type, OS, browser, push notification tokens
• Usage analytics: Pages visited, features used, session duration. Non-essential analytics are only collected with your consent, which you may provide or withdraw at any time in Settings.

• Matching — Internal Jobs: To connect you with relevant Internal Job Listings and employers using our ranking algorithm, including presenting your profile to matched employers.
• Matching — External Jobs: To surface relevant External Job Listings based on your profile and preferences. Your data is used for recommendation only; STAK does not transmit your data to external employers.
• Service delivery: Messaging for Internal Job matches, notifications, and profile management.
• Improvements: Analytics to improve algorithm accuracy and user experience.
• Communication: Account updates, support responses, feature announcements.
• Safety: Fraud prevention, abuse detection, content moderation.
• Legal: Comply with laws, protect rights, resolve disputes.

We retain data only as long as needed:

• Active accounts: Data kept while account is active
• Deleted accounts: All personal data deleted within 15 minutes of deletion request (see section 10)
• Job posts: Soft-deleted (hidden) for 30 days, then permanently deleted
• Logs: Technical logs deleted after 90 days (no PII retained)

We share your data only with:

• Matched users (Internal Jobs only): Your profile is shown to employers or candidates with whom a mutual match has been established within STAK. No profile data is shared for External Job Listings.
• Service providers: Third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, including cloud infrastructure, email delivery, error tracking (Sentry), and analytics platforms. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the specific services they provide to us.
• External Job Listing platforms: When you click through to an External Job Listing, you are directed to a third-party website. That website operates under its own privacy policy, and STAK is not responsible for its data collection practices.
• Legal authorities: Only if required by a valid legal process, court order, or applicable law.

We never sell your personal data to third parties or advertisers.

• Data encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Passwords hashed with industry-standard algorithms
• Regular security audits and penetration testing
• Access controls limit employee access to personal data
• Automatic error tracking with Sentry (no PII logged)

You have the right to:

• Access: Download your data anytime in Settings → Data & Privacy
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Danger Zone)
• Correction: Update your profile information at any time
• Portability: Export your data in JSON format
• Opt-out of notifications: Disable push notifications in Settings
• Withdraw consent: Delete or pause your profile at any time
• Opt-out of analytics: Disable non-essential analytics in Settings → Data & Privacy

If you are in the EU or UK, your data is processed in compliance with GDPR. We use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission for any international transfers of personal data outside the EEA.

Our matching algorithm considers:

• Your skills vs. job requirements
• Your salary expectations vs. job compensation
• Your preferred remote/location vs. job location
• Your experience level vs. job level
• Industry and function preferences
• Recent activity (more active users receive more frequent matches)

We do not use age, gender, race, protected class status, or any discriminatory factors in our algorithm.

STAK is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate the account and delete all associated data. If you believe a minor has used our Platform, please contact us at Legal@stakconnect.com.

When you delete your account, we immediately and permanently remove:

• Your profile and all personal information
• Messages and conversations
• Job swipes and activity records
• Matches and associated data
• Push tokens and session data
• All activity logs tied to your identity

This is permanent and cannot be undone.

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent in-app notice. Continued use of STAK after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
